Bio

Emma Stout is a pre-licensed professional counselor and is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). In addition to working with clients at from Within, she is also a school-based therapist with Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Emma values walking alongside children/adolescents through the rough patches in life and emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship within the process of counseling. She believes that a key factor to healing is being valued, seen, and accepted just as you are. Emma strives to create a safe environment for kids and teens where they are free to express themselves through play, words, and art.

Emma understands that therapy is not a one size fits all and therefore utilizes an eclectic approach, pulling from many different modalities within the therapeutic process. Emma has received training in directive and non-directive play therapy, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

In her free time, Emma enjoys spending time outdoors, going for walks with her dog, Benny, as well as crocheting and playing board/card games.

Emma received her Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Belmont University and her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Northwest University.
